Bass Overdose are "Charm" and "Dj Crazy J"
So.... who is Charm? Charm is a one man live based acid obsessed electronic musician and beat creator with a taste for music with a seriously hard but melodic attitude, he has a huge amount of experience at playing live (live meaning LIVE, no DAT Tapes, C.D.’s, Vinyl or ADAT) in clubs built up over the past 15 years at various nights including Dance Dimensions, Projections, Wonderland, Buzby’s, Labyrinth, LAII, Aquarius, Raw, Tribal Kaos, Roller Express, Pirate club, Knowledge, Sw1, Devine, Green Apple, Universe, Club UK and most recently Rok da Boat. Plus the ones you know we can’t remember!

Crazy J started out as an acid house dj in the very late 80’s at one of the first acid house nights in the country and worked alongside the likes of Jay Strongman, Mark “S Express” Moore and Tim “Bomb the Bass” Simenon. Crazy had a particular style which earned him a following that includes many named Dj’s such as Mathew “Bushwhacka” B, Phantasy, Gemini, Kenny Ken, Rennie Pilgrem and rave pioneer Marvin “Yikes!” Connors.
Then in ’90 he met Charm (a live act already on the underground scene) and they decided to team up in '91 and release the highly acclaimed Bass Overdose E.P. (Bass Overdose was born) a mainly Techno based 4 tracker which included the atmospheric Jungle Techno stormer De-men-tation which was a favourite of many Dj’s, Fabio, Grooverider, Swanee, Micky Finn, Phantasy, Goldie, Top Buzz and Randall (who opened his set with it for quite a time) to name but a few. The track has also been sampled on numerous occasions e.g. sample the beginning of Dementation add a four-four beat, use the same melody for your bass line and you have the “anthem” Pennywise as remixed by Micky Finn.
Charm went on to do various remixes, as Charm or The O.B.C., of other artist’s tracks including K90, Demix and Jack Slim. He has also released music under the guise of The O.B.C. with Dj Dean B and also as part of SL0 Grooves. The Crazy J/Charm partnership also extends from the studio to the clubs where they have played together at many events.
